Fallout 4 is back in 2026 and it is not slowing down anytime soon.

According to Circana, who track US game sales every month, Fallout 4 claimed the 20th spot on the January 2026 best-seller chart, sitting alongside modern titles like Black Ops 7, GTA 5, and Elden Ring. For a game originally released in 2015, that is pretty remarkable.

One word: the TV show. The Amazon Prime Video Fallout series premiered its second season on 16th December 2025, with the finale airing on 3rd February 2026. That timing lines up perfectly with the January sales surge. On Steam alone, Fallout 4 hit more than 60,000 concurrent players in January. Fallout 76 also saw a big boost, peaking at 33,000 players during a free-play period in January.

Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch 2

There is more good news on the horizon too. Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on 24th February 2026, after the January chart had already closed. That means the Switch 2 version has not even been counted yet. It is the first ever mainline Fallout game to land on a Nintendo console, and it comes packed with the base game, all six official expansions and more than 150 Creation Club items. February's chart could tell an even bigger story.

Fallout Has Always Done This

This is not the first time the franchise has spiked like this. Fallout 4 was the second best-selling game of 2015, only beaten by Black Ops 3. The TV show has basically handed Bethesda a free relaunch all over again.

My Take

Personally, I am right in the middle of a Fallout 4 playthrough on my Xbox Series X right now and I am loving every second of it. The TV show genuinely made me appreciate the world and lore on a whole new level.

Is Fallout 4 back in your rotation? Let me know in the comments.
